Pittsfield Historical Society Facts

Founded:
1983

Collections:
Hoping to preserve the way we were, Pittsfield Historical Society collects bits and pieces of Pittsfield history largely through donated artifacts, photographs, newspapers, family scrapbooks and diaries. By looking at and preserving the way it was, we aspire to keep the spirit of many alive.

The permanent collections include military and Civil War items and documents; Maine Central Institute artifacts and yearbooks, town reports, business and professional artifacts, Scouting items, personal scrapbooks and other art and antiques housed in a former train station with an adjacent Maine Central caboose.

Facilities:
The Pittsfield Historical Society operates a Museum. From April to October, The Depot House Museum is open every Tuesday and Saturday, from 10am to 1pm., or by appointment.
From November - March, The Depot House Museum is open by appointment.
